On the occasion of World Down Syndrome Day on the 21st March, we – members of the European Parliament and civil society – believe that the \u201crecognition of the inherent dignity and of the equal and inalienable rights of all members of the human family is the foundation of freedom, justice and peace\u201d, founding principles of the European Union. We want to create an inclusive society where the Dignity and human rights of people with disabilities are cherished by all, protected by law and put into practice in concrete actions all over Europe.<\/p>\r\n

Jako \u010dlen \u00damluvy OSN o pr\u00e1vech osob se zdravotn\u00edm posti\u017een\u00edm (d\u00e1le jen \u201e\u00famluva\u201c) maj\u00ed EU a \u010dlensk\u00e9 st\u00e1ty jasnou povinnost dodr\u017eovat pr\u00e1va v\u0161ech osob se zdravotn\u00edm posti\u017een\u00edm zakotven\u00e1 v \u00famluv\u011b v cel\u00e9 Unii.<\/p>\r\n

Osoby se zdravotn\u00edm posti\u017een\u00edm, v\u010detn\u011b osob s ment\u00e1ln\u00edm posti\u017een\u00edm, maj\u00ed pr\u00e1vo na \u00fapln\u00e9 za\u010dlen\u011bn\u00ed a \u00fa\u010dast na rovnopr\u00e1vn\u00e9m z\u00e1klad\u011b s ostatn\u00edmi ve spole\u010dnosti. S osobami se zdravotn\u00edm posti\u017een\u00edm a jejich zastupuj\u00edc\u00edmi organizacemi je t\u0159eba konzultovat a b\u00fdt zapojeny do ve\u0161ker\u00e9ho rozhodov\u00e1n\u00ed v EU.<\/p>\r\n

Osoby se zdravotn\u00edm posti\u017een\u00edm v Evropsk\u00e9 unii jsou vystaveny vysok\u00e9mu riziku soci\u00e1ln\u00edho vylou\u010den\u00ed, proto\u017ee jejich m\u00edra nezam\u011bstnanosti je dvojn\u00e1sobn\u00e1 u ob\u010dan\u016f bez zdravotn\u00edho posti\u017een\u00ed a dokonce \u010dty\u0159ikr\u00e1t vy\u0161\u0161\u00ed u osob s ment\u00e1ln\u00edm posti\u017een\u00edm.<\/p>\r\n

Po\u017eadujeme, aby byla pr\u00e1va osob se zdravotn\u00edm posti\u017een\u00edm a \u00famluva za\u010dlen\u011bna do v\u0161ech politik a program\u016f Evropsk\u00e9 unie, v\u010detn\u011b politik v oblasti zdrav\u00ed, zam\u011bstnanosti a inkluzivn\u00edho vzd\u011bl\u00e1v\u00e1n\u00ed.<\/p>\r\n

We call on the European Institutions and the Member States to respect, protect and promote the individual autonomy of people with disabilities and intellectual disabilities, including the freedom to make one’s own choices. We recall the importance of supporting autonomy rising projects like inclusive educational\u00a0 programs,\u00a0 independent\u00a0 living\u00a0 projects\u00a0 as\u00a0 well\u00a0 as\u00a0 health research programs with therapeutic goals.<\/p>\r\n
