By giving a job opportunity to a person with Down syndrome, employers can break the chain of prejudice. And start a virtuous chain, instead: THE HIRING CHAIN. For WDSD21, CoorDown launched a campaign with the help of iconic musician and activist Sting to promote hiringchain.org, a new platform designed to assist employers interested in hiring people with Down Syndrome. To reach as many potential employers as possible, we partnered with LinkedIn. The world's largest professional platform promoted the initiative to their 15 million followers, published articles on the topic and streamed live shows on the importance of inclusion in the workplace. In the first 2 weeks, 35,000 people visited HiringChain.org and more than 900 companies from all around the world applied through the platform with the intent of hiring someone with Down syndrome or getting more information.
