Michaela Sojdrova

CZECHIA - Group of the European People's Party (Christian Democrats)

Member of the European Parliament on behalf of KDU-ČSL. A conservative politician who builds her values on Christian-Jewish traditions. She studied landscape architecture during communist regime in former Czechoslovakia. In the 1990s, she managed to teach French at the Archbishop's Gymnasium in Kroměříž for four years, designed gardens, acted as vice-chairwoman of the KDU-ČSL district committee and took care of the family. In the years 1996–2010, she was elected to the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic four times. In 2009, she received National Order of Merit by the President of the French Republic for her contribution to the development of Czech-French relations. She has long worked in honorary positions of university supervisory bodies. She is a member of the UNESCO Club, the Association for Europe, and supports Scouting and the Eagle movement. In 2019, she was elected to the European Parliament for the second time. She the coordinator in the Committee on Culture and Education for the European People's Party (EPP). She is an active substitute in the Committee on Agriculture (AGRI). As a member of Integroup for Children’s rights, she actively advocates for children's rights.
