New Translations Available: European Self-Advocates Study
30 mei 2025
We are happy to share that the study “Empowering Self-Advocacy and Social Inclusion for Persons with Down Syndrome: Best Practices and Insights” is now available in all project languages.
This study was developed as part of the European Self-Advocates project, co-funded by the European Union through Erasmus+. It explains the background, methodology, and key ideas behind the European Self-Advocacy Training Program.
The study looks at why self-advocacy is important for people with Down syndrome, how the training program was developed, and why people with Down syndrome were directly involved in shaping the curriculum. It also presents the peer-led co-teaching model, where self-advocates take an active teaching role with the support of a co-trainer.
The study is now available in:
Making these translations available is an important part of the project’s goal: sharing accessible tools and knowledge across Europe, so more organisations, educators, families, policymakers, and self-advocates can learn from the European Self-Advocates project.
By offering the study in multiple languages, we hope to support stronger self-advocacy education and promote the full inclusion of people with Down syndrome in society.
