Welcome to the Self-Advocacy Training Platform

Il European Self-Advocacy Training Program was developed as part of an EU-funded Erasmus+ project that brought together partners from across Europe to create the first structured curriculum designed with and for people with Down syndrome. From the very beginning, self-advocates were at the heart of the process—shaping the content, testing the activities, and leading as teachers themselves.

The program is built around four lessons, you can explore them by clicking on them below:

Over two years, this curriculum was co-created and piloted with organizations in Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Hungary, Romania, Greece, Czechia, and Malta, coordinated by EU for Trisomy 21 in Belgium. The result is a program that is simple, engaging, and effective, built around real experiences of self-advocates across Europe.

After the lessons, don’t miss our Inclusive Sharing Wall — a space where partners share how they brought the training to life in their own communities.

If you are interested in implementing the training in your own country or community, explore the lessons above and then get in touch with us. We are happy to support you in organizing your own sessions or training your trainers to deliver the course.

This program is supported by Erasmus+ and represents a shared European commitment to inclusion, empowerment, and advocacy.

Before using or adapting these materials, please read our Licence and Acknowledgements to understand how the programme was developed, who contributed to it, and how it should be credited and shared in line with the values of the European Self-Advocates Project.
