Starptautiskā cilvēku ar invaliditāti tiesību diena

3rd 2021. gada decembrī, Starptautiskajā cilvēku ar invaliditāti tiesību dienā, ES par trisomiju 21 atzīmēja cilvēku ar Dauna sindromu tiesības. Šajā svarīgajā datumā Eiropas Parlamenta deputāti uzdeva dažus politiskus jautājumus cilvēkiem ar Dauna sindromu no visas Eiropas.

Ar šo kampaņu mēs dodam iespēju cilvēkiem ar Trisomy 21 paaugstināt savu balsi un runāt par saviem politiskajiem uzskatiem par dažādām tēmām. Cilvēki ar Trisomy 21 ir pilsoņi ar pilnām demokrātiskām tiesībām, un tāpēc viņu izpratnei ir ne tikai nozīme, bet arī būtiska nozīme pilnvērtīgā pilsoniskās sabiedrības diskursā, kurā Eiropas Parlamentam ir jāieklausās viņos. Demokrātiskās institūcijas vēl nav gatavas uzklausīt cilvēkus ar Trisomy 21, taču tām jāsāk strādāt, lai pielāgotos, lai ikviens Eiropas pilsonis varētu piedalīties Eiropas demokrātijā.
