Five families from Belgium, France, Italy, Spain and Poland has challenged the Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) to mismatch their socks in support of the celebration of the World Down Syndrome Day meaning that people with Down Syndrome may be different (as our socks) but they enrich our society in the most beautiful way.

This online campaign prepare World Down Syndrome Day that will be celebrated as every year on March 21st.

EU for Trisomy 21, in collaboration with many other NGOs and MEPs, has organized a series of activities for this special occasion in the European Parliament. Unfortunately, the activities that were planned inside the Parliament for this celebration has been called off due to the instructions on Covid-19.

Nevertheless, the mismatched socks social media campaign will continue starting with the launching today of the video of five persons with Down Syndrome and their families challenging MEPs to mismatch their socks.

During this campaign, MEPs will receive a brief note on the needs of action from the European Union on health, education, equality and research to tackle the problems faced by people with Down syndrome and their families.

EU for Trisomy 21 kindly invites you to join the mismatched socks campaign by posting your photo or video on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram with the hashtags #EUforTrisomy21 #WDSD20 and #WorldDownSyndromeDay.
