Rasmus Andresen

Rasmus Andresen was born in 1986 and grew up in Flensburg, a German city close to the Danish border, as part of the Danish minority. In 2001, he became member of the Green party, four years before he passed his A-levels. He studied communications and administration in Denmark until 2009 and became Member of the Regional Parliament (Landtag) of Schleswig-Holstein in the same year. In 2017, he was elected as vice-president of this parliament. Since 2019, he is a Member of the European Parliament. There he is coordinator for the Greens/EFA Group in the Committee on Budget and was e.g. part of the negotiations for the multiannual financial framework for 2021-2027. In his role as member of the Committee on Industry, he works intensively on questions with regard to the digital world. In addition, he is an active member of the LGBTI*-Intergroup and fights for equal rights for people from this community.
