Lesson 2 - I can tell my own story
Lesson 2 is focused on rhetoric and learning how to prepare a speech. Its purpose is to help participants move from everyday experiences and interests into structured communication that others can clearly understand. Through guided steps, they learn to select a topic they care about, reflect on what they like, what they don’t like, and what they would change, and then organize these ideas into a simple speech.
The methodology combines visual tools, flashcards, and practice exercises to support each participant in building their message. They work step by step: choosing their favorite topics, structuring their key points, and using aid materials to support their presentation. The process includes speaking in front of others, listening to feedback, and trying again — so that by the end, participants experience real growth in both clarity and confidence.
This lesson shows that everyone can be a speaker. By practicing rhetoric and speech in a safe and encouraging environment, participants discover that they can tell their own story in a powerful way, making their voices heard in front of others.
